This is an amazing little camera! I have the GoPro HD Surf HERO mounted to the front of my longboard. It shoots professional quality 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions record at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p).
Other camera settings allow for still images as well. I utilize the Surf HERO in 720p video mode for the simple fact that I can take snapshots of the video footage later. The Camera mounts easily to a base-plate that is attached to the nose of my board. The camera itself is very durable but the clip that attaches it to the base-plate is the weakest link. The few times that I've nose dived on a wave, the clip has broken. The camera is equip with a lanyard which ensures its safety in such cases. Other than nose diving, the camera holds up well to common whip-outs and crashing waves. Images and video are sharper when the camera lens is not facing into the sun. Overall, it's definitely worth the investment if you're like me and enjoy capturing those epic surfing memories.
